Gradual Sieving Unit

The Gradual Sieving Unit is specifically designed for efficient pre-physical separation of crushed battery materials, including copper, aluminum, and plastics. Utilizing a closed-circuit conveyor system, it feeds a homogenized mixture of materials onto vibrating sieves, where separation occurs through the interplay of gravity and precisely controlled vibrations. Equipped with adjustable vibration motors, the unit allows fine-tuned forward and backward movement to optimize separation efficiency. At the initial stage, it can achieve up to 80% efficiency in isolating heavier materials, significantly enhancing downstream processing performance.

In battery recycling, gradual sieving plays a crucial role in the purification of black mass—the fine powder rich in valuable metals such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel. After mechanical crushing of end-of-life batteries, the resulting material typically contains a mixture of black mass, copper, aluminum, plastics, and other contaminants. Gradual sieving enables staged and controlled separation of these components based on particle size and density, greatly enhancing the purity of the recovered black mass.

By efficiently removing heavier metallic fractions and coarse impurities before chemical processing, sieving reduces the burden on downstream hydrometallurgical or pyrometallurgical operations. This step not only improves metal recovery rates but also lowers processing costs and minimizes chemical reagent consumption.

Engineered with a strong focus on maintenance and operational flexibility, the Gradual Sieving Unit features easily replaceable sieves, allowing quick adaptation to different material characteristics. Durable, shock-absorbing springs are integrated to minimize structural stress caused by continuous vibration, extending the machine’s operational life.

Technical Specifications

The Gradual Sieving Unit is designed for continuous multi-stage particle size classification of powders, granules and recycled materials. The system separates feed material into multiple particle size fractions using sequential vibrating screen decks, ensuring accurate grading, high throughput and consistent product quality.
